On January 29th of last year, President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law. I believe this is one of the most important pieces of legislation to pass the Congress in recent memory.
The Ledbetter Bill was a direct response to Lilly Ledbetter's lawsuit against the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in an equal pay lawsuit. In effect this landmark bill officially leveled the playing field for equal pay for equal work for women in the workplace.
Had I been in Congress, I wouldn't have just voted for this bill, I would have proudly co-sponsored it, working day and night to ensure its passage. My opponent, Thaddeus McCotter, can’t even say he supported it-he voted against equal pay for women and will stand accountable for his vote come Election Day..
If you share my outrage with McCotter over his narrow-minded vote, then stand with me in this campaign by contributing $36.50 (exactly 365 days later) to show your support and solidarity for equal pay in the workplace. We have to show McCotter that we're watching and we're not happy with what he's been up to in Congress and your contribution of $36.50 can do just that!
Sincerely,
Natalie Mosher

P.S. - This issue is deeply personal for me. I really hope you'll contribute $36.50 today so McCotter will get the message that we won't be taken for granted ever again!
