League of Women Voters Candidate Forum Livonia City Hall 33000 Civic Center Drive Livonia, MI  Thursday, September 9, 2010  7:30 PM-9:00 PM
Natalie Mosher, the 2010 Democratic nominee. "Voters expect and deserve a discussion about issues relevant to their jobs, the economy, both wars, and the latest threat to Social Security and Medicare. My campaign is about the people of the 11th District.
The National Planned Parenthood PAC Committee voted to endorse Natalie Mosher!
"I support EQUALITY for all Americans and will stand up for LGBT rights as your neighbor and voice in the U.S. Congress from Michigan's 11th District," Natalie Mosher endorsement response.
Canton, MI - Monday's POLITICO highlighted more of GOP Rep. Thad McCotter's Washington style hypocrisy, outlining his payments of "at least $30,000 in taxpayer-provided Republican Policy Committee funds to hire a consulting firm run by his chief of staff's brother, Saul Anuzis, even as McCotter planned to kill the policy committee because it's a "superfluous" waste of federal money."
This endorsement can help provide the dollars we need to take our message of job creation, education, and responsible government to each and every voter in the 11th District. As you know, running a campaign is immensely expensive, so every little bit helps!
The Stars and Stripes have a special meaning to us all. Our flag represents freedom: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from oppression, freedom to be ourselves. Perhaps most importantly though, our flag represents the unity of our nation. The fifty stars, representing the fifty states, are arranged together to form one flag- one nation. America is a diverse country; there is no doubt about that. Yet the Michigan manufacturer is really no different from the New York businessman or the Nebraska cornhusker at heart. We are all Americans.
Down With Tyranny! - June 23, 2010 - Democratic Candidates Have Taken Note.  Natalie Mosher is a progressive grassroots activists running for the seat currently held by Thaddeus McCotter, a member of Boehner's leadership team. McCotter is thought to be vulnerable this year and he's running around looking for cash. He took some from the highly toxic Texas Freedom Fund. Natalie is now insisting he give it back.
Mosher Challenges McCotter to Return Questionable Contributions “For someone who prides himself an intellectual and a history buff, McCotter sure has acted like a dunce on this one.” Natalie Mosher
The most important thing in Michigan and in the United States right now is the development of jobs.  During the course of this campaign during what will surely be one of the most important elections of our lives, I have been saying that the best economic development plan for Michigan is to free up resources to make them available for small business.
For more than a month, oil has been pouring into the Gulf waters, wreaking havoc on the environment, after the tragic rig explosion which killed eleven people. What’s truly outrageous is that the largest oil spill in history could have been prevented if proper safety and maintenance measures were taken. BP, Transocean, and Halliburton all had a role in failing to secure that oil rig. But instead of accepting responsibility for their part in this disaster, we saw a circular firing squad, as the corporations passed the blame to each other at recent Congressional hearings.
A once booming state that churned out the world’s supply of automobiles has given way to shuttered factories and foreclosed homes. Michigan has been the victim of skyrocketing unemployment, unfair trade policies, and the outsourcing of jobs overseas.
Canton, MI - Yesterday, in an interview with FoxNews, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI-11) decided to make humorless jokes in response to a proposed funding measure for America's public schools. It seems fairly clear from his actions that Mr. McCotter has taken an anti-schools position against the Keep Our Educators Working Act, one of a litany of "No's" from the Congressman.
Down with Tyranny! - May 24, 2010 - Natalie Mosher, the progressive Democrat opposing GOP corporate shill Thaddeus McCotter in the suburbs west of Detroit (the western parts of Oakland and Wayne counties), sent us a guest editorial she put together on the oil spill. Her perspective is worth looking at; it's the polar opposite of the one being voiced by John Mica and other conservatives whose political careers have been financed by Big Oil.
Hometownlife (May 13, 2010) If elected, Mosher said she would make healthcare, developing alternative energies, and creating jobs her top priorities. A big proponent of the domestic automotive industry (she says relatives, including her husband, have a total of 154 years experience with the auto companies), Mosher said she would work to stop bad trade deals like NAFTA and CAFTA (Central America Free Trade Agreement), which she believes have hurt American auto workers.
This Mother's Day, NOW is working with dozens of national partners to ensure that we RATIFY WOMEN! now. Please ask your Senators to celebrate Mother's Day by showing their support for the CEDAW Treaty.
The oil spill just off the coast of Louisiana is nothing short of a catastrophe and now threatens Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi. While I trust that BP is working overtime to stop oil from gushing into our pristine waters of the Gulf, we cannot forget who favors expanding this type of drilling: Thaddeus McCotter.
The Plymouth Democratic Club (PDC) is pleased to extend our club’s endorsement to Natalie Mosher as a candidate for Representative in the United States House of Representatives 11th Congressional District, in the 2010 elections.

After the floor discussion, the Board unanimously endorsed Natalie Mosher for US Congress11 and Jocelyn Benson for the Michigan Secretary of State on voice votes. The Board feels strong about these two candidates winning the fall election as both of them have the right credentials, experiences, and the right agenda for Michigan and our party.
With the help of over 30 dedicated volunteers we have gathered more than enough signed petitions to qualify us to be on the ballot!
The U.S. House made history Sunday by passing a health care reform bill.
Arab American News By Khalil AlHajal - Natalie Manoogian Mosher, of Canton, is trying to become the first Democrat elected in the 11th congressional district since 1965.
Michigan’s 11th district 2010 democratic Congressional candidate gains another endorsement.  Despite recent strides, too few women participate in the processes that determine political power and too many women face a challenging road to powerful public service positions. That’s why Women’s Campaign Forum (WCF) is proudly endorsing Natalie Mosher for Congress.
Mosher is sure to win the Democratic Primary and her main race will be against  Republican incumbent, Thaddeus McCotter.
NOW/PAC is proud to announce the endorsement of Betsy Dennigan (D-RI, 2nd Congressional District), Colleen Hanabusa (D-HI, 1st Congressional District) and Natalie Mosher (D-MI, 11th Congressional (D-MI, 11th Congressional District).
On January 29th of last year, President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law. I believe this is one of the most important pieces of legislation to pass the Congress in recent memory.
Dr. King's words showcase the preacher's understanding of Detroit's unique needs at the time. It's incredible to think how far we all have come since those turbulent times, and how far we have yet to go.
My heart is with the people of Haiti today. I am deeply saddened by the ongoing reports of so much devastation. The news is grim, but I hope that we as a community can step up and lead by example.
Natalie applauds the efforts and leadership of Governor Jennifer Granholm and Attorney General Mike Cox in addressing this problem. She is encouraged by the bipartisan multi-state effort to sue for the shutdown of the Chicago canals but we can’t afford to wait around for the courts to get involved. Illinois’ wait-and-see approach to the Lakes is irresponsible.
Today Democrats are learning that one of our candidates for Governor will end his campaign citing the tough fundraising environment. Well let me take this opportunity to say that I too am struggling with fundraising during this devastating recession, but I won't back down from the fight ahead.
Daily Kos - (December 22, 2009) - 20 Questions with a Candidate: Natalie Mosher, MI-11
I ask that in the spirit of the season, take a moment to remember the things that make us fortunate, however small or large. We live in a great community within a great nation, and I feel lucky to have you all as my neighbors.
Yesterday McCotter joined his fellow Republicans in voting against a common sense bill called the Jobs for Main Street Act. This bill will help small businesses start hiring again, would free up credit for small businesses, save existing jobs, provide 21st Century job training funding and extend much needed COBRA health care benefits to those looking for work.
We must recognize that the small businesses in our own hometowns can help us pull out of this recession, but they can’t re-hire, create new jobs or innovate without capital and credit.
Daily Kos: Why Do So Many Shady Senators Want To Tax Working Families? - (December 8, 2009) We spoke with two progressives running to replace Republicans in the Midwest, Jennifer Brunner, in Ohio's senate race, and Natalie Mosher, running in Michigan's 11th CD. Natalie doesn't miss a beat in explaining how important it is for the Senate to not impose this kind of tax on working families and how integral an issue it is for American recovery...
Daily Kos: State of the Nation - (November 30, 2009)  His Democratic opponent is Natalie Mosher who opposes escalating the war in Afghanistan. "The decision to send more troops to Afghanistan," she told us, "comes seven years too late."
Down With Tranny - (November 30, 2009) One of the top DCCC targets for 2010 is likely to be Thaddeus McCotter, a Michigan Republican likely to get a teabagger primary opponent after calling teabaggy hero Jim DeMint "nuts". His Democratic opponent is Natalie Mosher who opposes escalating the war in Afghanistan.
Translated from "Washington Speak": McCotter is protecting tax breaks for companies that ship Michigan jobs overseas.
In trying times like these, Thanksgiving reminds us just how important it is that we sometimes extend a hand to those less fortunate, to insure that everyone can join in our tradition of giving thanks.
By now you've heard that he voted against health care reform this past weekend, but what you might not have realized is that Thaddeus McCotter voted for an extreme measure than will ban a woman's right to reproductive health services under the public option.
Dearborn Press and Guide - (November 14, 2009)  I am a pediatrician and a mother, living and working in Congressman Thaddeus McCotter's district.  While I fully expected that Rep. McCotter would not vote for the health reform bill, I did not expect that he would vote “yes” on the other health care proposal considered that day.
Having known Natalie Mosher for some time and after working with her on Barack Obama's Campaign for Change in 2008, I know that Natalie's leadership not only reflects the values and limitless talent of our community, but that her leadership will finally ignite the kinds of opportunities here in Michigan that our talented community deserves.
Natalie Mosher, Democratic candidate for Congress in Michigan’s 11th district, responded to Congressman Thaddeus McCotter’s vote against health care reform today in the following statement
Health care reform cleared the House last night in a historic vote that will expand health care access and choice for all Americans while banning preexisting conditions as a barrier to obtaining health insurance.
In many states, insurance companies can still discriminate on the basis of gender -- and not just on costs. In some states, maternity care is not covered because pregnancy can be seen as a “pre-existing condition.” It’s even legal in some states to deny a woman coverage because she’s been a victim of domestic violence!
Roll Call — (October 21, 2009) Mosher’s inability to stay away from politics makes sense when you understand his family. His mother, Natalie Mosher, is currently running for Congress in Michigan’s 11th district. “My mom is a former county commissioner and has always been very interested in public policy,” Mosher said. “I think the thing that really made up her mind to run was working as an Obama volunteer last year.”
Let me be clear, I support health care reform. I support health care reform because we must hold insurance and big drug companies accountable. The days of allowing them to charge more, to cover less need to come to an end. Health care competition will force them to compete for our business in a way that they've never competed before.
The Oakland Press Blog (Thursday, September 24, 2009) — I love pets as much as the next person. But not one Republican has said they are willing to vote with the Democrats on health care reform. Now this story comes out that Thaddeus McCotter is looking for co-sponsors for a bill that would offer a $3500 in tax deductions for health care for pets.
Michigan Representative Looks for Support for Pet Health Care Tax Credit, While Denying Health Care Reform for the American People
I am proud to announce that I have earned the endorsement of the Women's Campaign Forum! This news comes on the heels of my trip to Washington, D.C. where Democratic Party insiders tell me I'm very close to making the coveted "Red to Blue” list for congressional challengers.
I just returned from a quick trip to Washington, D.C. to raise money and I have exciting news to report: we are in the game for making the coveted “Red to Blue” list for congressional challengers.
Thaddeus McCotter thinks it was o.k. for Congressman Joe Wilson to heckle the President during a joint session of Congress last week.
McCotter's Chief of Staff in Washington D.C. didn't like what one of his constituents posted on YouTube, so he refused to allow him to meet with the congressman. His Chief of Staff did however attempt to "blackmail" the constituent by saying that if the YouTube posting was removed, that he could meet with Congressman McCotter.
This time from MoveOn.org and AFSCME. Both have invested serious money in TV ad campaigns that highlight Thaddeus McCotter's misplaced priorities and ill-spent time in Washington.
This week, America marks the 89th anniversary of that groundbreaking moment in American history.  Carrie Chapman Catt that led to the formation of a League of Women Voters in 1919 and, ultimately, the passage of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote in 1920.
Armenian Reporter (August 21, 2009) — As part of her campaign announcement earlier this year, Mrs. Mosher pledged to "make certain the Armenian-American community has an active and effective advocate" in Washington.
The following are the guests from the Michigan Democratic Party who lead the parade with the Pakistani community and attended the event. B l o g g i n g   F o r   M i c h i g a n by Cordelia Lear Tue Aug 18, 2009 My Congressman is Thaddeus McCotter.  He's made it quite clear that he doesn't want to hear from constituents. So, I'm happy to see his opponent, Natalie Mosher, step up and talk to people in the 11th Congressional District.
Mosher responds by talking to voters about their thoughts on reform
While I share concerns about the health care reform measures currently before the House, I stand committed to quality, affordable care. My opponent, Mr. McCotter, has said little more than voicing his opposition to reform, calling it a "slippery slope".
Congressman McCotter not willing to discuss reform in a public forum
The “Cash for Clunkers” program is an initiative that is helping the auto industry get back on its feet by incentivizing the return of older vehicles if Americans will buy new cars. But the stand on southeast Michigan is ever changing.
At a time when Michigan families are struggling to make it through these tough times, with over 15% unemployment, what does McCotter spend his time on in Washington? Accusations and pointless resolutions that won't create the first new job, reform healthcare and bring down costs or help the auto industry get back on track.
Natalie Mosher, Canton, seems to be creating a positive impression as she embarks on a campaign for Congress. Running against incumbent Thaddeus McCotter, she is making the rounds, dialing the phone and seems to be sparking interest when at first people were less than enthused.
